Released in 2020, All of Me was directly inspired by the jazz interpretations of multi-instrumentalist, Jacob Collier. Aesthetically pleasing, it is “dreamy” and “heart-warming.” The atmospheric synth in the beginning is an introduction to a song filled with chord extensions and structures that complement the melody. When the same synth concludes the song with the additional guitar and swelling chords, it is filled with more depth and rich personality given the context of the journey throughout the song. All of Me has been described as “seamless and inviting.”
Originally, this song was written when Leon first started out with composing in 2013. She was inspired by an elegant bracelet of a cross with blue and white pearls. The phrase "The Cross Around My Wrist" seem like a clever title, which is where the songwriting process began. The tune is reimagined with a deeper knowledge and understanding of music. It is different than her typical sense of harmony, and her first time soloing on soprano saxophone.
